# Session history

> Look up past streaming speech-to-text sessions, their transcripts, and what they cost.

Chariot saves every streaming session to your workspace: the final transcript, the settings it ran with, what it cost, and how it ended. Use the history endpoints to review transcripts and reconcile billing.

## What is saved

| Item | Details |

| Transcript | The final transcript. If the session ended without `transcript.done`, for example on an idle timeout, the text recognized up to that point. |
| Settings | `model_type`, `mode`, `style`, `language`, `audio_format`, and `sample_rate`. |
| Usage | `audio_seconds` sent and `credits` charged. |
| Outcome | The WebSocket `close_code`, plus `started_at` and `ended_at`. |

A session appears in history shortly after it closes.

## List sessions

[`GET /v1/asr/sessions`](/api-reference/endpoint/asr-sessions) returns sessions in your workspace, newest first.

**skip** `integer` (default: 0)

Number of sessions to skip, for pagination.

**limit** `integer` (default: 20)

Maximum number of sessions to return, from 1 to 100.

| Field | Description |
| - | - |
| `total` | Number of sessions in the workspace. |
| `session_id` | The `session_id` from `session.started`. |
| `created_at` | When the session was saved to history. |
| `language` | The language hint, or `null` for automatic language detection. |
| `audio_seconds` | Seconds of audio sent. |
| `credits` | Credits charged for the session. |
| `transcript` | The transcript. Can be empty or `null` if no text was recognized. |

## Get a session

[`GET /v1/asr/sessions/{session_id}`](/api-reference/endpoint/asr-session) returns one session, including how it ended.

The response has every field from the list, plus:

| `close_code` | How the session ended. See [close codes](/guides/speech-to-text/websocket#close-codes). |
| `started_at` | When the session started. |
| `ended_at` | When the session ended. |

A session that does not exist, or belongs to another workspace, returns `404`.
